Overview of role
Subsea 7 has an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Engineer within the Central Engineering Team based in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

The job holder should have knowledge and training related to SharePoint, Excel VBA and Python programming in order to develop and / or maintain department / project SharePoint sites as well as various in-house engineering applications, standalone or integrating with third-party software commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

• Coordinate with disciplines and / or projects to understand the SharePoint site functionality needs.
• Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in developing SharePoint site fit for purpose and meeting the global Subsea7 requirements
• Coordinate with multi- engineering disciplines to understand developments needs and program flowchart logic. Advise on programming options and suggest most efficient fit for purpose technical solution.
• Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in writing, testing, debugging and finalizing effective and scalable codes. Code must be well documented, working with APIs and communicating in an efficient manner.
• Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in version control using Git.
• Coordinate with IT Teams to implement solutions.
• Undertake responsibility for supporting multi- engineering disciplines through user support and debug, application rollout and training.
• Able to prioritize and organize work and ensure sites / application development is completed in line with defined budget and schedule.
• Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development.

Person Specification
Professional qualifications - Degree qualified in (Demonstrable experience in a similar role will also be considered)

• Working knowledge of SharePoint sites
• Working knowledge of Python official multiprocessing package
• PEP 8
• Git
• Working knowledge of Excel and VBA
• Working knowledge of one popular Python web framework (Django or Flask, for example)
• Working knowledge with SQL
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML5
• Produces work of presentable quality Core Python, including object-orientation programing
• Basic Data Analysis knowledge (Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, seaborn) is desirable
• Basic knowledge of Power Bi is desirable
