Job Description Summary
Responsible for designing , developing and testing Embedded Software (Firmware), platforms and systems that control and runs on devices that need to be tailored to the needs of the hardware that it has to control and run on (i.e. directly controls the real time functions of a physical device such as motors, alternators, engines, valves, fans, and other devices and products). Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristics of the physical device being controlled, the realtime functions it is expected to perform and the ability to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to realize the realtime functionality. Usually tailored for products and services across various P&Ls. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for analyzing, designing, testing and/or integrating related to assigned components, assemblies or process software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
• Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies, processes and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
• Upgrade, configure and debug existing systems using .NET languages (C#)
• Provide technical support for web or desktop applications.
• Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in our software development process.
• Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
• Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams, mentor others in the organization.
• Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
• Participate in organizational efforts in design, analysis, test and manufacturing technology, quality, productivity, and other initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related
• Demonstrate solid contribution in a similar role or previous position.
• Excellent understanding of the programming principles, design patterns and OO best practices.
• Experience on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen.
• Experience with two or more object-oriented programming language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, etc.
• Experience with databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) and database technologies (JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring Data, Sequelize).
• Familiarity with Entity Framework and LINQ Queries
• Demonstrated experience with the software development life cycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience using configuration management tools such as Git, GitHub, SVN, etc..

Desired Characteristics

• Experienced in .NET/Core, C#
• Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC))
• Have the experiences with XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML and XSL
• Knowledge of Lambda expressions.
• Knowledge of WPF
• Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
• Understand concepts of modeling and drafting and how to implement solutions for it.
• Understand and use software frameworks that are compatible with advanced high-end CAD/CAM/CAE platforms.
• Knowledge of NXOpen library and Knowledge Fusion language.
