The Detention Analyst supports the freight brokerage operations by monitoring, analyzing, and managing detention-related data. This role ensures timely resolution of detention charges, identifies trends, and helps optimize carrier and shipper performance to minimize delays and reduce operational costs.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Detention Tracking & Documentation:
Check that all portals are updated in real time.
Monitor load statuses to identify delays at shipper or receiver locations.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of arrival, loading/unloading, and departure times.
Collaborate with carriers and customers to confirm detention time and validate charges.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze detention trends and generate reports to identify frequent issues by lane, customer, or facility.
Recommend improvements to reduce detention time and increase operational efficiency.
Support billing teams by validating detention-related charges before invoicing.
Operational Support:
Work with management and operational team to prevent detention incidents.
Contribute to service-level improvement initiatives and customer satisfaction efforts.

Leadership experience
