Requirements:

• Working-level knowledge of algorithms
• Demonstrates sound coding techniques
• Proficient in the use of databases: query and data definition
• Proficient in one or more core languages: Golang, Python, PHP, C/C++/C#
• Competent in use of metrics, monitoring, and automated testing
• Competent with Linux, particularly CentOS
• Proficient in the use of industry standard tooling (i.e. the Atlassian Stack, etc.)
• Consistently adheres to commitments with respect to delivery and timeframe
• Solid oral and written communications skills
• Embodies and demonstrates maturity, professionalism, and ethics

Additional Desired Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Familiarity with design patterns and industry best practices
• Experience with one or more NoSQL DBs: ElasticSearch, Apache Cassandra, Mongo DB, etc.
• Proficient in the creation and use of RESTful APIs
• Ability to execute complex queries and design relational databases in PostgreSQL using referential integrity, views, stored procedures, and proper indices.

Job Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer II is expected to demonstrate increased proficiency in newly acquired industry-related skills. The Engineer II will perform routine programming assignments that require skilled background experience and knowledge of established programming procedures. This person works according to clear-cut and complete specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Works through a project from start to finish as an individual contributor with moderate guidance
• Performs triage of product support requests, problem determination and assists with escalation when appropriate
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of a core-product or service offering's features, construction and operating characteristics
• Implements software features as identified
• Identifies and implements moderately complex bug fixes
• Incorporates effective test procedures, logging, and monitoring in applications with minimal oversight
• Participates in regular review of individual output to ensure it conforms to department and company standards
• Contributes to efforts in maintaining and improving product quality with minimal direction
• Creates quality product and support documentation with minimal direction
• Identifies risks to projects, communicates and formulates mitigation plans
• Actively contributes to cross-functional team efforts
• Conducts self-assessments by comparing required skills with existing knowledge to develop, present, and execute plans for improvement
• Consistently adheres to commitments with respect to delivery and timeframe.
