What you'll be doing

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the company's operations department. This includes managing the operation staff, ensuring efficient customer service, and overseeing all operational processes. The Operations Manager will be a key leader executing and implementing strategies to improve department efficiency and customer service

You will be responsible for

• Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers.
• Strategically plan and manage the customs operations, and customer services.
• Assist team members in problem solving and addressing errors accordingly.
• Ensure the inbonds process (monitoring, open and closing).
• Responsible for ensuring direct reports are working towards meeting departments KPIs.
• Assist Initiate new client process including client set up, monitoring progress and follow up with client for regular updates (Responsible to ensure correct set up with US, Mexican or Canada Brokers.)
• Tariff research and classification of goods to comply with Canadian, Mexican and US customs regulations (as applicable).
• Report high risk issues to the line of business director.
• Support the Business Development team with client request such as quoting, providing data, and any other information as applicable.
• Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and customs requirements.
• Create WI documentation for operation processes.
• Conduct regular audits to processes to identify deviations from standard.
• Support line of business director creating departmental budget.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Ability to manage a group of +20 employees
• Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
• Hire and Terminate employees
• Assign tasks to team members
• Assists with training and guidance of direct reports
• Monitor work volumes of direct reports to ensure entries are completed to customs regulations guidelines
• Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules

What we need from you

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in International Trade, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years proven customs, compliance, or international trade experience.
• Knowledge of Annex 24 and IMMEX program
• Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
• Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English) is necessary
• Full understanding of customs regulations in applicable country.
