Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities
Direct Supervisor of a team of Strategic Souring Analysts, driving the development of skillsets within the team
First line of contact to coordinate, define and implement the strategies for classifications (grow/fix/exit/develop.) Drive strong cooperation with Mgr. Strategic Sourcing, Strategic Sourcing Analysts, Supplier Quality and Supply Chain Management for improved supplier performance
First line of contact to agree on suppliers that best fit the defined commodity strategy and relevant product sourcing strategy, including biding, awarding, sourcing, and contracting of new suppliers. SSU expert for the team, while ensuring number of suppliers is further reduced
Gives support to follow up with Suppliers on open orders that were escalated by the purchasing team in line with the Procurement Escalation Process
First line of support to coordinate/lead preparation of negotiations with suppliers, including solution of contractual issues and providing MOQ and lead-time relevant information to purchasing team members. PIA process super user
Mentor team to coordinate Quoting and negotiating "direct material" costs to ensure material productivity performance meets or exceeds expectations using relevant experience
First line of contact to coordinate developing saving plans for the assigned suppliers and commodities to reach the saving targets, including cost savings through annual negotiations with relevant suppliers
Helps to identify technical possibilities for cost reductions in cooperation with the engineering department
Leads special projects, including re-sourcing and outsourcing activities
Participates or leads quarterly business reviews with suppliers, including review of financial, quality, and delivery performance targets and driving the supplier performance matrix
First line of contact to coordinate actions and tasks with compliance department and regional procurement team to ensure compliance with the global sourcing process and policies for all activities under responsibility
First line of contact to coordinate actions and tasks with compliance department and regional procurement team to ensure suppliers are compliant with TEs social supplier responsibility and legal requirements, including RoHS, Conflict Minerals
Gives support to coordinate actions that promote supplier portal is used by suppliers (order confirmation, internet labelling)
Gives support to coordinate actions that ensure purchasing system setup (Info Records) is up to date
Gives support to proactively identify weak or outdated processes in alignment with TEOA Tools/Metrics
First line of contact to coordinate support of activities for NPIs
Helps to establish strong communication channels with the IND BU core teams-Functional teams, product management, quality, etc
Helps establish open communication network-bridge input from engineering, product development, manufacturing & suppliers
Drives analysis and plausibility of regular reports as well as pushing for data accuracy / clean-up-STR
Educational Degree
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent
Professional Experience (years in what processes and functions would be ideal)
6+ years' experience in procurement as Strategic Sourcing Analyst or Equivalent, including preparation of negotiations
2+ years' experience in Procurement or Supply Chain leader roles
Sourcing experience for Stamping, Plating and Molding is a plus
