Title: Finite Element Analysis Engineer

Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct linear and non-linear structural analysis on agricultural tractor components and systems utilizing FEA applications; Interpret and apply design loads and goals information in virtual analysis with appropriate boundary conditions; Determine if components meet strength and durability acceptance criteria per Deere requirements; Collaborate with product development engineers on design revisions necessary to meet strength and durability requirements per program schedules and cost targets; Improve structural analysis methods and procedures through constant efforts to correlate virtual analysis with experimental and field test results; Develop and maintain acceptance criteria on tractor-related structural activities utilizing test data and experience.

OR:
  • Perform structural analysis for off road vehicles components, looking for potential failures due fatigue or yielding, stresses and large deformations.
  • Lead the preparation of virtual models, pre-processing and post processing and it's preparation and conducting correlation.
  • Prepare scripts in APDL and Phyton for automation of the simulation tools.
  • Develop research topics for integration of new technologies or propose methodologies to conduct correlation.
  • Working together with senior design engineer to define the optimization of tractor components.
  • Documenting and proposing solutions to field issues.


What Skills You Need:

  • Apply structural analysis simulation techniques to solve large, complex non-linear (geometry and material) FE models using ANSYS Workbench suite on cloud computing services on agricultural vehicles.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to meet strength, cost and schedule goals.
  • Experience in the use of PTC-Creo and ANSYS SpaceClaim CAD applications to prepare geometry for FE models.
  • Experience in Python scripting to facilitate automated ANSYS Workbench features via the ANSYS Customization Toolkit.
  • Apply knowledge of Agricultural tractor operations and functions for the purpose of applying correct boundary conditions to FE simulation models.


What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Knowledge of Product Design and Product Delivery Processes
  • Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to Ag or other Heavy Equipment.
  • Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors.
  • Skill in using Part Data Management systems.
  • FEA Experience.
  • Agronomic Knowledge.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing.
  • Experience in FEA analysis, Materials, design, and optimization.
  • Domain in FEA software like ANSYS, Abaqus, Hyper mesh.


Education:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering.
