Plant Manager Black Belt
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Materials Science, or Electronics) or a related technical field.
Black Belt
10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations. - Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role. - Background in specialty materials, soldering technology, or PCBA-related manufacturing preferred. - Demonstrated cross-functional experience (e.g., engineering, quality, production, supply chain).
- Strong understanding of Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement. - Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred. - Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and production planning tools. - Basic financial understanding (e.g., operating expenses, depreciation, working capital).
- Fluent in Spanish and English (verbal and written). - Strong interpersonal, change management, and communication skills.
Facility, Manufacturing & Quality Assurance - Oversee buildout and setup of new facility. - Lead daily manufacturing operations for solder paste and related PCBA specialty materials. - Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer specifications.
The Mexico Plant Operations Manager will lead all aspects of Indium Corporation's Guadalajara manufacturing site. This includes overseeing production, quality, operations, safety, personnel development, and cross-border coordination with U.S. headquarters. This is a hands-on leadership role within a growing site that supports the electronics industry with specialty materials used in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA).
Facility, Manufacturing & Quality Assurance - Oversee buildout and setup of new facility. - Lead daily manufacturing operations for solder paste and related PCBA specialty materials. - Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer specifications. - Maintain and improve metrics for throughput, yield, efficiency, and on-time delivery. - Oversee preventive maintenance and ensure equipment reliability. - Actively engage with customers and the Mexico-based Sales Team to secure Qualification of the new facility.
Leadership & Team Development - Manage a multidisciplinary team including production, quality, warehouse, and support staff. - Hire, train, and develop local staff to foster a culture of performance, safety, and continuous improvement. - Provide strategic input on site staffing, layout, and capital investments.
Quality, Compliance & Safety- Ensure adherence to IPC/JEDEC standards, internal quality procedures, and customer requirements. - Ensure compliance with all Mexican Permit Authorizations, etc. - Conduct safety programs and risk assessments in compliance with Mexican labor laws. - Lead audits and support corrective action implementation.
Cross-Border Coordination - Serve as the operational liaison to Indium's U.S. headquarters. - Coordinate with U.S. logistics and customer service teams on exports, customs, and documentation. - Provide regular operational reporting and performance updates to U.S. leadership.
Process Improvement & Strategic Execution - Lead cost reduction, waste minimization, and process improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methods. - Champion digital transformation (e.g., ERP systems, labeling, packaging upgrades). - Develop and implement efficient production scheduling and capacity planning.
