The Electrical Engineering Professional is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.

General Responsibilities
• Creates designs within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges
• Leads feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
• Develops testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch
• Responsible for failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations
• Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned; produce design reports, test reports, operating manuals and test procedures
• Leads a team that includes senior engineers/managers for the purpose of engaging with customers in soliciting product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

• Support NPD Design projects
• Perform design verification on original and/or derivative design ideas using analytical and experimental methods e.g. FEA & FMEA
• Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel (technicians) in the preparation of detailed technology selection, conceptual design, detail design and prototyping
• Development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch
• Resolves problems of limited scope using engineering fundamentals. Executes scripted Design/Process Validation (DV/PV) testing with limited support.
• Complete Failure Analysis investigations and engineering evaluations
• Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned
• Direct interaction with customers to solicit product specifications requirements and schedule expectations.
• Proficient understanding of electrical engineering principles, PCB design, circuit analysis, electromagnetic compatibility [EMC], microcontrollers, time and frequency domain analysis, etc.
• Strong presentation skills - Ability to clearly present design concepts to customers, managers, and peers verbally and using formal presentations
• Basic understanding of design tools such as Matlab and Minitab
• Proficient with the use of SPICE software [LTSpice, PSPICE, Multisim, etc]
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with superiors, peers, suppliers and customers
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work to targets
• Client focus - understanding and meeting customer needs.
• Problem-solving and judgment - ability to assess options and implications in order to identify a solution.
• Ability to offer innovative solutions - adapting to change, leading the change process
