SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing a team of team leaders and experienced subject matter experts that provide diverse support to AutoZone. Responsible to define and/or analyze new projects to be addressed by the team. This includes coordinating team activities, providing technical guidance and leadership, communication with senior leadership, vendors, suppliers, contractors, functional project team, supporting the customers, resolving problems, coaching team members, and training as required.
The person in this role will promote shared spaces to maximize collaboration and unify separated efforts implementing standardized processes across different functional teams. Manage the overall daily tasks as well as the larger projects from the team. Deliver desired, sustainable business outcomes ensuring a continuous learning and development process. Validate that work is performed accurately, analyze errors, and resolve problems. Identify and develop high potentials to be able to help and take on tasks that are difficult or critical for the business. Will collaborate with IT on implementing technical solutions that reduce time and costs and maximize outcomes.
You will investigate non-standard requests and problems, make presentations to upper management, ensure project documentation is accurate, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Will coordinate efforts to provide high level technical solutions and analysis using specialized systems. Guarantee KPIs are being met and created as required by upper management to build a true center of excellence.
Plan and execute training sessions to keep the team updated and create team KPIs that help the business measure development and understand workloads.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 40% Leads developers and technical team in all roles of the systems development life cycle developing tools and websites. Plan, design, select, execute, and follow up team KPIs, trainings, 1 on 1 meetings, IDPs, career tracking and team buildings. As well as, creating strategies for the continuous development of the team.
- 30% Project Management. Ensures quality and timeliness of projects by closely monitoring standards that include technical aspects such coding standards, best practices, optimal software solutions, changing processes and documentation. Manage, prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously with varying completion dates and competing priorities.
- 20% Collaborates with leadership setting the strategy and definition of goals. Communicates status and progress of projects and activities to team members and stakeholders. Communicates effectively and tailors communications appropriately to different audiences. Onboards and trains team members, providing coaching and mentoring and developing team skills. Aids in the prioritization of activities for the team and delegation of activities.
- 10% Understand and create high-profile report timelines, work closely to developers and individual contributors if needed. Provide supervision when lead positions are open. Guarantee procedures are followed effectively per IT and business priorities and standards. Supervises and leads the team on documenting all the processes and functions performed by the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Level of formal education: A bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent. Master's degree (MA, MS, MBA) is a plus.
- Area of study: Computer Science or related field
- Years of experience: 7+ years
- Type of experience:
- In analysis and reporting, management, or similar roles
- Presentation, facilitation, and writing skills.
- Project and personnel management - estimating, planning, controlling, and execution.
- Experience in development projects and teams.
- Proficient abilities on analytics and data science.
- Experience in AutoZone's business model.
- Special certifications or technical skills: WebFOCUS, SAS, GCP, Looker
- Technical Skills:
- Programming Languages (e.g. Python, C#, Java)
- Databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL,PostgreSQL, Informix, DB2)
- BI tools (e.g. Talend, WebFocus)
- Web development (e.g. HTML 5, CSS, JS)
- Other/preferred:
- Expert problem-solving, domain technical, and analytical skills.
- Deep expertise in at least one business area. Store Operations, Commercial, Merchandising, Loss Prevention, Human Resources, Maintenance, and/or IT.
- Ability to teach coach and mentor.
- Ability to provide technical supervision to others.
- Presentation, facilitation and writing skills.
