Location: San Luis de la Paz, GTO. / Onsite
Opportunity Kohler Bajío
BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Superintendent Pottery, Plant III, this position is responsible for products being manufactured in accordance with established production processes, design and technical specifications; for directing the work force in such a manner as to meet the budgeted cost. Moreover, for participating in the definition of production plans.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinates the efforts of general supervisors and foremen through daily and weekly productivity and production reports to ensure maximum efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
2. Plans the production schedule within the time and budget previously established.
3. Coordinates the solution of production problems with the plant service area.
4. Determines which equipment or machines need to be used in the production process.
5. Establishes the sequence of production and whether overtime or extra shifts are necessary.
6. Monitors the production run to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise.
7. Determines the performance of raw material in production by observation and inspection at various points in the process and take necessary corrective action to ensure quality standards are maintained.
8. Inspects samples of finished products and recording defects to analyze quality control problems.
9. Works closely with the Materials department to ensure that the materials are maintained at their optimal level.
10. Through visual inspection of equipment and review of parts usage, production data and down time, determine if preventive maintenance and proper operating procedures are being followed.
11. Promotes the continuos quality improvement by means of techniques like: Six Sigma.
12. Establishes the correct measures aimed at having the best yield in the Plant.
13. Ensures the quality of the product at implementing and using the quality system ISO 9000.
14. Analyzes field claims reports, determine origin of problem and use information to initiate corrective action with supervision.
15. Ensures, through review of safety and accident reports, inspection reports and visual observation, that safety requirements are being met.
16.Comply with the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
1. Reports to director, Vitreous Operations-Mexico.
2. Directly Supervises Process Engineers and General Supervisors.
3. Indirectly supervises Foremen and hourly workers.
Organization Relationships:
1. - Frequent contact with Materials, Maintenance, New products and Human Resources departments.
2. - Frequent contact with production personnel in Wisc. and others Plants.
External Relationships:
1.-Occasionally contact with some Suppliers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Preference Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Preference experience in a manufacturing/industrial environmental with emphasis on high volume. Five of those years should be in a leadership role.
FORMATION:
Preference experience in ISO, project management/cross functional relationship. Experience in a Six Sigma environmental is an asset.
