The Advance Mechanical Design Engineer position is part of the Global Process Engineering Services (GPES) group within the CTO organization. The Mechanical Design Engineer I will be part of an engineering group that is responsible for material cost savings, productivity improvements, and product support to Honeywell R&O service centers.
The key products supported include original equipment and repair and overhaul of a wide variety of systems and accessories for aircraft, aircraft engines, and other aerospace applications for both commercial and military applications. On-site activities include engineering, manufacturing, troubleshooting, and repair and overhaul services.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced engineer with strong interpersonal skills, as the position demands frequent interaction with both internal and external customers. The candidate must be capable of exercising initiative and sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide product and technical support to the Global R&O workshops by driving material savings initiatives, product/process support activities, and performance improvements.
-Support the department's goals for backlog reduction, revenue growth, and material savings, through Repair improvements.
-Identify Workscoping opportunities to improve business performance relating to reuse, repair, replace, and extending maintenance repair limits.
-Identify and implement aggressive cost reduction initiatives and identify external business opportunities relating to the Repair and overhaul business.
-Operate as a team member in Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and Honeywell Operating System (HOS)
YOU MUST HAVE
-Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university

-FAA Regulations knowledge
-Travel willingness > 10%
-DFSS Certified or can gain certification within 6 months
-Basic technical skills in blueprint interpretation and manufacturing processes
-Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, design drawings, and related specifications
-Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as the position demands the ability to represent the site in technical discussions with customers and/or regulatory agencies
-Familiarity with the specific Honeywell products listed in the site capability listAdditional Information
