Main Responsibilities- As Dynamic Systems Modeling (DSM) Engineer, you will collaborate with DSM analysts throughout the enterprise to drive accuracy and efficiency into our workflows with a focus on the right model with the right fidelity at the right time. This position will collaborate with developers, control systems engineers, system engineers, and verification champions, the product families (DSM analysts), and enterprise development resources to develop and apply workflows for integration of control models into product family virtual prototypes. This position will drive a simulation-based product development culture, integrating MIL analysis into development processes, by developing and correlating simulation test cases for exercising multiple features simultaneously within a production step against feature and product requirements. This position will work with the development teams to deploy and exercise these models from early concept development through production leveraging continuous integration environments for automation.
What Skills You Need- Develop 1D Plant and physics based MBSD models of off highway vehicle systems and subsystems using MATLAB/Simulink tools as per Model based system design framework.
- Understanding of Perception Sensors and co-simulation with Virtual Environment (like Unreal Engine, Prescan, CARLA).
- Ability to understand MATLAB controls, Robotics Workbench, C++ code.
- Uses skills in CAE, analysis, and modeling to apply engineering theory for systems development.
- Develops alternative solutions and recommendations using best of his/her knowledge.
- Participates actively in review meetings with the stakeholders.
- Evaluates the relative merits of new technologies to create competitive advantage.
- Provide analytical and plant model development support for vehicle and systems software controls development issues related to engineering.
- Work with Algorithm Developers, Verification Champion, and Test Engineer to propose the systems control level changes based on simulation results. Also optimize the new and existing control design.
- Working knowledge of MIL/SIL/HIL simulations.
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming fundamentals, working knowledge of Python, CAN fundamentals.
What Makes You Stand Out- Right fidelity 1-D Dynamics System Model development and its correlation with available test data.
- Basic knowledge of python programming.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic components used in automotive/off highway systems.
- Exposure to dynamic systems modeling activities for physics-based modeling.
- Understanding of Mathworks tools: Simscape, SimHydraulics, SimMechanics, etc. for system identification, controls, etc.
- Awareness to performance testing of off highway vehicles is desirable.
Education- Bachelors in Engineering/Technology (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical etc.) with at least 3-4 years of experience, or Masters in Engineering/Technology (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Systems & Controls, Dynamics etc.) with at least 2-3 years of experience.
