What you will be responsible for:?

The Database Administrator role would part of a small dedicated DBA team within the Analytics business at Simcorp, overseeing the support and performance of a varied database technology landscape including Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL and Snowflake.

In practice this role would entail:

· Install, configure, and operate MSSQL database systems, including a familiarity with Always On and failover configurations configuration

· Monitor and optimize performance, including query performance analysis and tuning, working in collaboration with development teams providing recommendations to optimise performance

· Design and implement backup, recovery, and security strategies

· Proficiency in database programming languages (SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL), as well as SQL Server DacPac deployments

· Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake)

· Ability to script and automate routine procedures, with appropriate error handling and alerting

What we value:

• A degree in computer science/engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with Database Administration, including query performance tuning

· Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning tools

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, MCSA: SQL Server, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle OCA)
• Experience with cloud hosted PaaS database solutions, particularly on Microsoft Azure
• Scripting skills to automate tasks, such as with Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Good communication, teamworking & organization skills
• You have excellent analytical skills and are used to working in a structured way
