Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology

Experience :
• Advanced experience (3+ years) with Postgresql 9.2 and above, AWS RDS and Aurora, AWS Linux.

Knowledge :

• AWS Linux OS
• Synchronous and asynchronous replication
• Warm Standby
• Hot Standby
• Streaming replication
• Logical and Physical backups.

Skills :
• Good communication skills, both in written and in verbal form
• Experience with working with different systems and IT operations
• Teamwork and cooperation

Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate the administration of Postgre databases to ensure the accurate, appropriate and effective use
of data including database definition, structure, documentation, requirements and operational guidelines.
• Performs quality control to ensure the proper usage of data in the databases.
• Analyze and make recommendations regarding enhancements and improvements.
• Establish and maintain security and integrity controls.
• Monitor transaction activity and utilization.
• Prepare progress and performance reports.
• Diagnose, resolve and implement preventive problems for availability, recoverability and performance for all
supported databases and environments.
• Install, setup, test, monitor, upgrade and tune new and existing Postgres database servers.
• Keep yourself up to date with the new Postgres versions for upgrades and migrations.
• Test quarterly PITR (Point in Time Recovery).
• Nagios monitor and configuration for monitoring instances effectively.
• Implement new ways of monitoring.
• Ability for shell scripting.
