We are seeking an Advanced Maintenance and Support Engineer focused on Databases.
A DB engineer in the Global Banking Practice is responsible for the delivery of Diebold Nixdorf's products and solutions to our customers. The main aspect of the job is the central design, implementation, maintenance and support of DBs related to projects.
Seasoned DB engineer. Handles, investigates and reports the most complex cases / situations and takes a leading role in the execution and improvement of local maintenance and support. When applicable, take part in escalation meetings with customers.
Successful resolution of the incident relies on ability to efficiently communicate across different departments being located at different locations all around the globe.
Responsibilities
Technology:
Position who has got experience in handling large and complex E-Business environments
Ability to drive performance issues in database and application stack and complex architecture issues
Have experience and proficient in installation, configuration & administration of DBs (Oracle, SQL, Postgres)
Experience upgrading databases for example Oracle from 12c to 19c
In-depth understanding of Advanced Architectures (Multi-Node, DMZ, etc)
Strong Database backup and recovery skills
Maintenance and Support:
Excellent troubleshooting skills DB
Must understand SLAs and addressing incidents/tickets as per priority
Resolution of complex incidents and problems related to customer production systems and application infrastructure, following established procedures.
Consults customers in the:
Release management process about new or changed infrastructure components.
Planning & execution of maintenance and back-up activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a DBA (Database Administrator).
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS).
Experience in deploying and administering Oracle 12c/19c multi-node RAC databases in the on-premises infrastructure.
Strong knowledge and experience in AWS, including database-related services.
Experience in executing database migration projects to the cloud.
Experience working with MS SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Main point of contact for critical incidents. Interaction with customer and base product support teams.
Passion for troubleshooting to identify root cause and provide workaround.
