Right now, we are looking for a Database Administrator to join our team at Globant!

Database Administrator Job Responsibilities:

Database side:

• Install, upgrade and maintain the performance of database servers.
• Support DB migrations, debugging data and recreating DB objects.
• Manage database access, grants, roles and profiles.
• Performance tuning of database systems
• Periodically perform healthchecks on the status of the DB with monitoring and reporting tools (i.e. AWR in Oracle)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
• Support in audits.
• Support in changes from DB to production
• Document DB processes and troubleshooting.
• Generate scripts, stored procedures and functions in pl/sql

AWS side:

• Monitor storage, alerts, CPU utilization, IOPS, Reads and Writes and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
• Perform failover activities, MultiAZ.
• Use, install and configure Aurora clusters.
• Management of snapshots, restoration and data refresh.
• Knowledge of DMS to create data transfer tasks in ongoing replication and one-time copy.
• Storing data in s3 buckets and restoring it is a nice-to-have.

What will help you succeed:

• Advanced English skills.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle and MySQL tools
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud.
• Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• Understanding of relational data modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
