Job Title: General Manager
Location: Apodaca NL, Mexico
Job Sumary:
Is responsible for overseeing all daily operations, including support departments. This rol ensures the efficient and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality automotive components while complying with local labor regulations and corporate standards. The General Manager plays a key role in leading continuous improvement initiatives, driving operational excellence, and maintaining strong employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, quality, supply chain, and EHS.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Maintain compliance with local labor laws (e.g., LFT - Ley Federal del Trabajo), environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Develop and manage plant budgets, control costs, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Build and maintain a strong team culture with a focus on accountability, performance, and employee development.
- Ensure alignment with corporate standards, customer requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 14001), and OEM expectations.
- Represent the plant in audits, inspections, and executive reviews.
- Partner with HR to manage labor relations and workforce development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field desired.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 3 in a plant leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and automotive quality systems.
- Familiarity with Mexican labor laws and experience managing maquiladora operations is highly desirable.
- Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
