Job Description Summary
The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for leading and administering, the Environmental, Health and Safety programs in compliance with BD corporate and local legal regulations and best practices. This position aligns policies and procedures to ensure employee health services are compatible with corporate and site goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide effective leadership for associate, health and wellness.
• Coordinate day-to-day implementation of industrial health, ergonomic and wellness programs.
• Review EHS policies, programs, and metrics to meet the goals and objectives of the business and fully integrating this into the plant management system.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations regarding environmental discharges from the facility and corporate requirements. Maintain records and updated permits.
• Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, hazardous waste, wastewater, and storm water permits, plans, regulations, etc.
• Conduct jobsite assessments, focusing on unsafe conditions and unsafe work behaviors; ensure appropriate action is taken to correct deficiencies.
• Coordinate Annual EHS Training Plan and emergency response.
• Conduct EHS associates training as necessary.
• Support other departments in solving problems to reduce risks and accidents.
• Accident investigation and timely follow-up of corrective actions.
• Document EHS standards, design and implement the management system.
• Internal EHS audits and verifications.
• Monitoring and maintenance of EHS programs.
• Develop safety and environment campaigns to help promote safety awareness.
• Develop and update environmental and safety procedures.
• Update the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).
• Present ideas for projects to improve the costs of Safety, Health and Environment.
• Attend and follow up on corporate audits, third party, customer, environmental certifications (Clean Industry), self-management with STPS, inspections by authorities, among others.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety, or equivalent
• 5 years of leadership experience in Manufacturing environment
• Knowledge and experience with SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, STPS , SEDUMA and Municipal agencies.
• Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001, Clean Industry and Self-management programs with environmental and safety authorities preferred.
• Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs
• Ability to coordinate and lead multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives
• Excellent communication, organizational, change management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
• Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.
