The position: Playa del Carmen Operations Manager
As our Playa del Carmen Operations Manager, you will play the leading role in ensuring our local operations abides to the highest industry standards, ensuring the housekeeping, maintenance and overall service of the properties we manage remain always at the highest level.
Specifically, we need you to:
- Oversee all day to day operations;
- Monitor goals and key performance indicators that track the integration progress, operational efficiencies, homeowner/guest satisfaction, and growth initiatives;
- Lead departments heads (Housekeeping, Maintenance and Guest services/concierge) to ensure overall profit, service, and team member satisfaction goals are met or exceeded;
- Ensure the implementation and compliance with the daily quality process of Stella Rentals policies and procedures;
- Establish and implement various employee coaching and training initiatives to optimize employees' capabilities;
- Drive the company's operating capabilities to surpass company goals and ensure homeowner retention;
- Speak with and respond to guests and owners regarding service and operational challenges if necessary, consulting with owners if needed;
- Review and approve operational expenses, quotes and budgets as required;
- Ensure employee buy-in and adoption to the new technologies and processes;
- Hire, supervise, coach, discipline, and conduct performance evaluations for department heads and key personnel;
- Develop the skills and abilities of direct reports;
- Monitor high potential department heads and team member activity to ensure their growth within the company.
Is this job for you? Well, it is if:
- You have a BSC/BA degree in Tourism or another relevant field;
- You have experience working within the Hospitality and/or Short-Term Rental management industry;
- You possess a proven track record of achieving operational excellence as an Operations Manager, Rooms Division Manager, or a similar role;
- You possess strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Spanish: You must know how to be concise yet professional;
- You exhibit demonstrable competence in strategic planning and execution;
- You have experience working with key operating tools and softwares to ensure success in the operation of the business, including Guesty as a PMS or similar tools;
- You have working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics and KPIs;
- You exhibit the ability to delegate, manage, and organize projects, establishing priorities consistent with company objectives;
- You possess outstanding organizational, managerial, and leadership abilities;
- You demonstrate excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and listening skills;
- You display the ability to manage extensive amounts of information and provide constructive feedback/direction;
- You have the capability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- You can effectively deal with owners, customers, and team members, demonstrating high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy when needed;
- You have the ability to manage multiple projects, meeting objectives effectively under time and resource constraints;
- You are based in Playa del Carmen;
- You have a vehicle and you are comfortable driving from one part of the city to the other as needed;
- You excel as a decision-maker and problem-solver;
- You have a strong initiative: you're not the type of person that waits for someone to tell you what needs to be done. The words "this isn't my responsibility" aren't part of your vocabulary;
- You are comfortable with a flexible work schedule that will require extended working hours, and availability on evenings and weekends;
- You love to laugh and be part of an awesome team!

As our Playa del Carmen Operations Manager, you will receive:
- A competitive base salary based on location and experience;
- Paid vacation + all national holidays - because we only live once!
- Subsidy for transportation of up to $3,000 MXN per month;
- All benefits according to Mexican law (IMSS, Infonavit, Fonacot, Vacaciones de ley, Aguinaldo, Prima vacacional).
