Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

This position will coordinate a team to generate Costing and Operational support for the Plant 1 HUS site located in Juarez Mx and will report to the Finance Manager. Other responsibilities include ensuring strong control environment and execution of productivity and other improvement actions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain robust controls throughout the businesses and help to identify and address potential risks in a timely manner.
• Assures daily reports as Earned hours, scrap and COGS and COPS for the operation
• Check work order weekly and assure the correct report.
• Monthly Inventory movement analysis.
• Support internal and external audit activity and assist in timely remediation of any findings or follow up items and work with site to ensure SOX controls are documented and operating effectively.
• Complete monthly closing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis regarding production costs.
• Coordinates physical inventories and cycle counting program.
• Prepares Monthly Inventory report.
• Maintain responsibility for routine calculation of accruals
• Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency of the close process through enhancement of existing procedures and utilization of financial systems and tools.
• Complete ad hoc financial information requests and various special projects as needed.

Skills and Experience

• 4-6 years Manufacturing Accounting experience.
• +3 years of supervision experience
• Experience in implementing finance and accounting best practices.
• Good working knowledge of transactional accounting and internal controls | SOX.
• Deep understanding of cost accounting, product costing and analysis of manufacturing variances.
• SAP.
• Expert knowledge of MS Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
• Self-starter who is able to work independently and execute projects effectively
