Automotive International Trade Specialist
Job Objective: Execute and coordinate customs clearance operations related to imports, exports, and returns, ensuring accurate review of customs documents, as well as administrative control of expense accounts and reports necessary for departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customs Clearance Operations Management:
• Coordinate customs operations for imports and exports across various modalities (temporary, definitive, RT and A1 returns).
• Supervise and validate pediments, invoices, packing lists, and other documentation.
• Manage special operations, including the import of machinery, return of fixed assets for modification or repair, and exports of material in the same condition.
2. Interaction with Customs Brokers and Authorities:
• Coordinate and follow up with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance and release of material.
• Resolve document errors, permit issues and discrepancies identified during customs processes.
3. Documentation and Operational Control:
• Prepare and review all necessary documentation, ensuring legal compliance.
• Prepare periodic reports on customs operations, including imports, exports, and returns.
4. Expense Account Control:
• Review and reconcile expense accounts related to foreign trade, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Validate customs broker invoices and allocate costs correctly.
• Generate administrative reports on the departmental analysis and control.
5. Process Optimization:
• Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
6. Support in Fixed Asset Management:
• Support in physically identifying and registering fixed assets under the IMMEX program for proper control.
• Support in maintain records of fixed asset movements and coordinate with relevant departments for tracking and management.
Requirements:
• Degree in International Trade, or related field.
• Proven experience in foreign trade within the automotive sector.
• Knowledge of customs regimes (temporary, definitive, RT, A1).
• Familiarity with Rule Eight, NOMs, certificates of origin, and import permits.
• Experience with IMMEX operations and fixed asset tracking.
• Knowledge of process improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in English; French language skills are desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
