1. SUMMARY OF POSITION :

Develops, maintains tools and methods, operation sequence and processes in the factory or production of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interact with the highest internal and external staff.

Responsible for researching and designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts. Perform process engineering for the manufacturing of products. Establishes controls, and documents needed to maintain a repeatable process. Works on cost savings projects. Gives support to manufacturing.

2. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION(S):

1. Independently performs the more complex engineering work and is responsible for success or failure of an individual engineering project, or group of projects, depending upon complexity and time required. Projects may include modification of existing products, design of new products, or research of new materials, processes or methods.
2. Controls and has design, testing and engineering production responsibility or research responsibility over several product types.
3. Performs and directs Engineers and technicians in evaluation of materials, processes and design feasibility. Sketches initial design and may have work direction of Product Engineers and Technicians in building prototype devices. Designates or approves proper testing for qualification of the device. Redesigns, modifies product as tests indicate necessary.
4. Responsible for adequate documentation to provide product history etc., and any other pertinent information necessary for the design and production of all assigned products.
5. May be called upon to assist in solving of problems incurred with the device in production.
6. Assist marketing in preparation of technical data for advertising. May make trips to discuss customer problems or to solve product problems encountered in the field.
7. Insures that products and equipment are designed, specifications are written and processes established with the thought in mind of reducing costs of manufacturing, but of not detrimentally affecting the quality of the product or the safety of the people.
8. Interacting with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
9. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations requirements equipped with tools and products lines of new or existing process.
10. Develops new acceleration techniques and analytical instruments to ensure early identification of potential problems with new products, evaluating processes.
11. Makes recommendations for changes in the selection and application of components and systems

Maintains records and coverage systems for coordination of industrial operations.

Establishes and maintains strong working relationships between engineering and other company departments including giving assistance in items such as training, pricing, selling and advertising.

4.EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Number of years of study and specifically the type of training and experience.

Education: Bachelor degree in Electronic, Mechanical or similar discipline, M.S. is desired

Experience: Minimum 7 years in Engineering

Basic Training: Introduction ( Benefits, Company Policies, Internal work regulations )

Basic knowledge:

FMEA's

Control Plan

MSA

ISO-9001

ISO/TS 16949

AutoCAD

Read equipment and Materials data sheets.

7. PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Be specific

Good working conditions. Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, cold or heat. Some elements are occasionally present which makes conditions less desirable than usually found in an office environment. Works with hazardous materials: lead, mercury, cadmium, radiation.
