Job OverviewTE Connectivity's Mold Makers apply knowledge of mold design and construction to the construction, conditioning, modification, repair and maintenance of injection and transfer molds, gauges, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures. In some instances they may fabricate new molds by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
What your background should look like: - Associate's or technical degree in tool making or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in moldmaking or mold maintenance.
- Must be able to inspect products and select the correct shop equipment, precision measurement devices and other tools needed for a job.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to operate milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, sinker and wire EDM machines and related shop equipment.
- Ability to operate precision measurement devices.
- Must be able to build tooling from scratch
- Able to work independently.
- Excellent math skills including a working knowledge of trigonometry, proficiency on compound angles.
- Proficiency in CAD software preferred (solidworks, Creo, Autocad, etc).
