Product Development Sr. Scientist - Chocolate - Mars Wrigley - Toluca, Mexico

Product Development Sr Scientists is a senior role who will be leading innovation, design, and develop new products for Chocolate Category, also responsible for Chocolate Pilot Plant Management.

What are we looking for?

• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• B.S. Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related technical field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 5+ years of relevant food/confectionary (chocolate) product development industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of food science fundamentals and application to the product development process.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and strong communication skills with the demand functional teams, e.g. Marketing, Consumer Insights, Commercial, etc.
• Ability to lead own product development work from the exploration, development, validation and scale-up phases.
• Experience with IT systems for R&D to upload formulations, specifications.
• Project Management skills, experience with innovation process such as Stage-Gate is desirable.
• Proactive collaboration within the Global Mars technical expert network and be able to know the connection points without being asked.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Conducting research & development activities, testing prototypes, analyzing results, and overseeing product launch. It includes lab test, pilot plant execution and industrial scale-up.
• Designing experiments and interpreting data to make informed decisions based on risk approach.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, manufacturing, consumer insights, regulatory and commercial to ensure product success.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to inform product development opportunities.
• Managing projects and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Preparing and presenting reports and presentations on product development progress and results
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Require higher technical expertise and knowledge of the Brand and Mars products, train and mentor other associates on the team; assist with knowledge transfer and technical training.
• Lead pilot plant operation to ensure flawless and agile innovation process .
