Job Description
Responsibilities
Work with programs to package power distribution components and battery isolation boxes in the vehicle while resolving any interference/assembly issues.
Develop functional safety compatible PDBs and BIBs.
Develop design transmittals working in VSEM and developing electrical pin out configurations.
Program manage full service suppliers in part creation, packaging, vehicle attachments, build support planning, and issue resolution.
Interface with software engineering for releases and requirements.
Will be working in a global setting.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering concentrations
5+ years of experience with automotive or aerospace industry power distribution boxes (PDB)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering concentrations
Experience preferred with power electronics and communication protocols (LIN/CAN/ASIC)
5+ years of CAN based power distribution boxes (PDB) or similar modules
Experience with failure mode analysis and root cause determination
Familiarity with plastic injection molding, automated assembly processes, metal forming and basic mechanical engineering knowledge
Excellent English skills (Oral, reading, writing and listening)
Ability to communicate and interact with others
Proficient in Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point)

Job Description & Qualifications
Position Duties:
Lead Design & Delivery of Power Distribution System Components (including Hardware and Software for Power Distribution Boxes, High Current Fuse Boxes, etc)
Lead D&R team for program delivery, supplier engagement, and sourcing
Manage sign off of all component DV testing & system level testing
Manage release (hardware and software) for components where applicable
Lead management of cost targets (VC, Tooling, ED&T)
Support D&R, supplier, Purchasing and STA reviews in support of quality deliverables and meeting all PPAP requirements in support of the vehicle launch
Support D&R and suppliers in resolution of open AIMS, open FCPA audit calls, Voice of customer fleet issues, and open DPAs.
Support Launch readiness reviews, Hard Rocks, Major Matters meetings, VPATs, CADF, EMMs and Launch reviews
Support quality efforts to address warranty and similar issues.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering concentrations
5+ years of experience with design and release of electronic components
Experience in Ford's WERS release process/AVBOM/AIMS/eFDVS/GPDS/Integrator systems preferred
Strong communication and analytical skills
Familiar with quality tools including 8Ds, 6-Panels, FMEAs, and 5Ds
Familiarity with the following technical skills: (electronic module packaging, understanding vehicle schematics)

Responsibilities
Specific tasks/responsibilities
Design PDB complying with program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
Complies with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Quality history, P-Diagram, FMEA, etc.) ensuring compliance to requirements and specifications.
Knowledge and application of six sigma and 8D
Leads Technical Design Reviews (TDRs)
Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle. Support the Change Control Meeting.
Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage, for prototype builds and maintain it post Job 1.
Identify validation, durability and functional test required as per requirements and specifications. (DVP / FEDE DVP dashboard)
Issue resolution in Digital and Build Phases of Product Development.
Analyze and breakdown Program Direction Letter and Trim Spiders to account for EDS.
Generate proposals to minimize giveaway cost and reduce total part count.
5+ yoe with Power Distribution Boxes or elec. modules design.
Strong English Proficiency (written, read, and oral).
Basic 3D CAD Knowledge (TeamCenter, Vismockup))
Microsoft Office Usage (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Time and Project Management.
Ford GPDS. (Nice to have)
Understanding of feature partitioning.
Understanding of automotive systems
