Job Description
Position Title: Logistics Analyst (Mexico)
Department: Sourcing & Logistics
Reports To: Sourcing & Logistics Manager
About the Job:
The Logistics Analyst in Mexico City, is responsible for the planning and execution of all local and international shipping and foreign trade requirements from and to the Mexico City plant in Tlalpan.
Responsibilities:
· Make sure customer pickups and deliveries are on time by giving constant follow-up.
· Negotiate for the best overall value in transportation services, balancing cost, reliability, service level, and transit time for both domestic and international shipments.
· Coordinate the customs brokers for fluid and compliant import and export processes, mainly from China and the US and to the US and LATAM
· Escalate and communicate threats of service disruptions.
· Keep customers and stakeholders informed at any time, by providing tracking numbers and status.
· Handles all US-Mexico cross-border shipping for our multinational company and all shipping and foreign trade requirements regarding Mexico.
· Be the main point of contact for all carriers into and out of Mexico.
· Prepare and coordinate the correct identification of shipments and the proper paperwork to cross customs.
· Document and file all foreign trade documents for as long and detailed as required per Mexican Law and available for consultation for inquiries by state customs, foreign trade and treasury departments.
· Regularly send out requests for quotation to benchmark our pricing levels.
· Open and close shipping orders in our Syteline ERP system.
· Be a fully-fledged staff member of the Supply Chain and Logistics Team, and perform Sourcing and Procurement Activities for several suppliers, for which will be responsible managing deliveries, pricing, capacity and quality.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
· Minimum B2 English level required; C1 preferred.
· Fully versed in optimizing shipping modes and carriers, customs brokers, product classification, incoterms.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel; experience with Syteline in particular and other MRP systems in general is a plus.
· 3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar or related position in a discrete manufacturing environment.
