Baker Hughes is looking for an Engineer to work collaboratively with Global cross functional teams to develop state of the art, next-generation industrial sensing products, solutions, and platforms.
As an Electronics components & layout engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Executing on the product design, validation, and certification of industrial grade electrical systems
- Implementing electrical designs in schematic diagrams and printed circuit board layouts
- Reviewing alternate component form fit and function to address obsolescence, supply chain shortages, etc.
- Supporting sustaining and obsolescence activities across a broad product portfolio
- Supporting the implementation of process-driven design decisions (CPO, NPI, and NTI)
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Have 5 years of experience minimum with schematic capture and layout tools, specifically Altium, Mentor Graphics, or PADS.
- Be familiar with hardware debugging at board level using the oscilloscope, bus analyzers, oscilloscope digital multimeters, etc.
- Be capable of concise and effective written and verbal communication in English
- Be an effective communicator within technical and non-technical environments
- Demonstrate ability to perform in a team environment, across functions, and with customers and suppliers
Desired Skills
- Have electronic signal analysis experience.
- Have electromagnetic compliance design experience.
- Have experience in designing with embedded targets ranging from 8 to 32-bits including ARM/ARM Cortex, TI MSP430, and ST Micro devices with external SDRAM, flash, and peripherals.
- Have experience designing and laying out controlled impedance PCBs.
- Be knowledgeable in the design of high speed circuit boards.
- Demonstrate design expertise in laying out low noise analog front ends, low power switching power supplies, and high voltage drive circuitry.
- Have experience with communications including RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, CANbus, or Ethernet.
- Have experience with industrial communications protocols like HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus or Profibus
- Have experience with safety and hazardous standards such as IEC60079 and IEC61010.
- Have experience with layout for CE compliance.
- Have experience with the design of industrial sensors and sensing system interfaces in the ultrasonic flowmetering, and trace gas/moisture detection spaces.
