Your role at Baxter

The Network Cloud Architect is responsible for implementation and standardization of Azure and AWS cloud networks and is responsible for the maintenance of the Terraform/CloudFormation code. Design network cloud firewall and cloud security measures.

What you'll be doing

• Implementing cloud infrastructure, using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), including but not limited to:
  • Creating Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Azure Virtual Network (VNET) resources such as subnets, network access control lists, and security groups
  • Composing and leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g.: AWS CloudFormation templates, Terraform, etc.) to ensure repeatable, sustainable Azure and AWS infrastructure.
  • Configuring multi-factor authentication
  • Experience with Azure vWAN Hub architecture that manages all routing between gateways using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with AWS Transit Gateway and business to business connectivity.
• Proficient with Cloud Next gen firewalls such as Fortigates or Palo Altos.
• Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
• Evaluate new technology.
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provide information for software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Work with the Baxter Information security team and lead front line security policy enforcement.
• Conduct testing of network systems, firewalls, and cloud security
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, cloud security (ie ZScaler) etc.
• Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Create new automation to streamline network deployments and reduce repetitive deployments.
• Develop Automation and scripts to monitor cloud network faults and selfheal issues to prevent business impacting network outages.
• Knowledge and experience with Cisco routers, Aruba SDWAN, MPLS and Flex VPN.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and communications protocols
• Assist engineering team in documentation, testing, implementation, and on-going support for our complex secured network systems.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field preferred or relevant work experience.
• 10+ years of network operational and network architect experience
• 2+ years of Azure and AWS network architect experience
• Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
• AWS Advanced Networking or AWS Solution Architect Professional
• Certifications in Network Technologies preferred CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, ACSA, ACSP
