Commodity Buyer. Responsible for the processes of productive material purchases, involving the analysis of requisitions, preparation and verification of quotations, negotiation, approval and placing of purchase orders and/or contracts, within negotiated time frames, competitive costs / prices and pre-established standards of quality as assigned by Director or Commodity Manager. Develop business strategies with Suppliers, which contribute to inventory reduction or any other Financial positive impact.
Responsibilities/ Skills.• Manage USD $60M Annual Direct Material spend
• Manage ~160 Suppliers by negotiating the best total landed cost for AEES.
• Negotiations to improve terms, price, lead times, etc., with existing supply base within commodity.
• Develop, execute and manage cost reduction projects using project management tools.
• Participate in Inventory Reduction projects.
• Develop negotiations for all major customer service requirements, i.e. pricing, supply, tool retention, etc.
• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service and Supply Chain to provide an efficient supply of service parts to the Customer.
• Negotiate production pricing for service parts wherever possible.
• Execute negotiations for supplier debits
• Develop and validate spend data.
• Work with supply chain to continually improve performance of suppliers.
• Work with Finance and Treasury to mitigate credit issues with suppliers.
• Data entry for part set up and approval in PCAS
• RFQ development and management.
• Participate in APQP meetings as assigned and request quotes as needed
• Manage commercial aspects of Supply Chain shortages, Spot Buys, lead-times
• Participate in Commercial aspects of Supplier/AEES Quality and Delivery issues.

Profile. - College Degree on International Business, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or similar
- Minimum 3 years' experience as Commodity Buyer, on corporate purchasing of productive material with US and Mexican suppliers.
- 2 to 3 years' experience in an automotive industry environment
- Proven track record of cost reduction
Preferred:
- MBA degree
- 5+ years of experience on the Automotive Industry.
- 5+ years of experience on Materials & Supply Chain processes
- ERP systems knowledge
Skills/ Knowledge requirements:
- Ability to conduct financial analysis such as piece price, standard cost and PPV.
- Computer knowledge of Office packages.
- English and Spanish - 100% fluent
