Execute merch and non merch strategic procurement activities:
Lead Merchandising RFQ and Auctions process to improve the procurement of the products sold in our stores considering price,conditions, quantities and other negotiated terms, having contact with Merchandising stakeholders such as Category Directors and Managers gathering their current needs and working with In Country suppliers in Mexico and Direct Import suppliers accross the globe, mostly in Asia.
Procurement of non-merch product and services for strategic departments of the company consolidating local and International needs for the growth of the company ( covering AutoZone Mexico, United States and Brazil) holding accountability to the upper level stakeholders of each area/country in the projects that they are involved until its implementation.
Sourcing activities to support all categories (Supplier development, RFQ/RFPs, bids, reverse auctions, price and terms negotiation, comunication to suppliers and upper level management during the process)
Oversee direct report activities to make sure it complies with the current business needs to improve the growth of the company.
Vendor management and constant comunication with Compliance and Legal department to ensure indirect suppliers are in full compliance (NDA, FCPA, AML, etc.) and Legal (contract, vendor agreement, etc.)
Primary Accountabilities
Lead the sourcing strategic management projects for medium and high risk value categories including:
Objectives definition and detailed plan for each project, in line with busines requirements
Identification of potential opportunities and benefits that may be explored including a rough estimate of potential savings.
Strategic Approach definition on how the benefits will be unlocked (e.g. relationship re-engineering, volume leverage, etc.)
Market Approach on how the market will be approached (e.g. RFQ, e-Auction, negotiation) for merch and non merch expenditures Prepare bid analysis and recommend supplier based on technical / commercial criterias
Constant comunication with area stakeholders, upper management and suppliers about the process and results of each project"
Conducts complex negotiations applying recognised models adopting a total cost of ownership approach
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to safeguard optimal performance. Encourage relationships with key customers that drive innovation for the business. Anticipates issues which will impact customer service rather than resolving
Identification and development of a competitive supplier base capable to support the company growth and expansion with the objective to build economy of scale and supplier consolidation synergies..
Consistently identifies area of potential risk to AutoZone in the procurement process and drives risk management within the broader team. Partner with Compliance and Legal department to ensure FCPA, Contractual, Financial capatity and Conflict of Interest risk are mitigated before is started a vendor relation.
Supervise his/her direct report, oversee employee performance, provide guidance, support, identify development needs, and manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the organization so that each is successful.
Education & Experience
Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
Area of Study: Administration, Business, Engineering
Years of Experience: Three to five years.
Type of Experience: Identification, Development, Negoatiation, Evaluation of suppliers, Efective Comunicator
Special Certifications or Technical Skills: "English proficiency is a must, Proficient in both written and spoken English
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoing) is a must
Experience running procurement process on an ERP environment is a must (Oracel,People Soft, ARIBA SAP, Scanmarket)
APICS Certification preferred
Project Management or Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) preferred"

Knowledge of industry best practices to continually enhance and improve contracting.
