Web Platform Software Engineers at PayPal develop innovative solutions and high-quality products that impact millions of people every day around the globe by building full-stack solutions in Node.js, GraphQL, and browser JavaScript. As a Web Platform Solution Engineer, you will

• Be an expert in the languages, system components and concepts of web applications: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, web browsers, http, content delivery networks
• Be an expert in the tools and processes needed to build, deploy, and manage web applications: IDEs, linters, continuous integration, containerization
• Be an expert in PayPal-specific components, services, and software development lifecycle that every web engineer at PayPal relies upon
• monitor support requests in order to provide ideal solutions to their technology use cases
• Build and maintain sustainable, automated processes and pipelines to support tech debt remediation for the web platform frameworks and fleet of applications that use them
• Manage, analyze, and address the pipeline of support requests from web engineers, utilizing automation and machine learning/large-language models where applicable
• Interface with the web platform engineering team to identify trends that should influence the backlog or roadmap
• Interface with other platform teams to provide a seamless experience for web engineers in the support process

Basic Requirements:

• Strong applied experience. You've built scalable web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, NPM, http, and browsers
• Very strong foundational knowledge of knowledge in Object-Oriented Design Principles, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering
• Great customer and interpersonal skills
• Good experience and understanding of continuous integration and the methodologies and technologies required (unit & functional testing, Jenkins or related build systems, containerized computing, etc)
