In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
The Product Engineer I position requires well developed and demonstrated qualification in mechanical design engineering. This position will also provide engineering support related to the analysis of cost reductions, customer returns, material substitutions, engineering changes and deviations.
- Cost Reduction - Provide engineering support for the improvement or modification of existing designs with a focus on cost reduction and value-added contributions as well as, meet financial objectives, engineering timelines and deliverables.
- Product Extensions -Design and develop product modifications and improvements for existing products within established guidelines. Perform detailed analysis for stress and flow prediction using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and other engineering analysis tools as required.
- Engineering Change Notices - Work with cross functional groups to smoothly implement designs into global operations. Thorough implementation is critical and requires careful planning when updating Bill of Materials, drawings, marketing communications, engineering/manufacturing procedures, inventory transition, 3rd party approvals, etc.
- Engineer to Order - Support application engineering, order entry, and global operations for inquiries related to product performance, tolerances, materials of construction, etc.
- Product Approvals - Create new, and maintain existing, product approvals, e.g. UL, PED, ATEX, CRN, etc. Utilize the applicable codes per world area, develop technical files, submit calculations and risk/hazard analysis as needed to meet the requirements of multiple 3 party approval agencies.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- High regard for safety in workplace and laboratory environments
- BS Degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent written and verbal skills to facilitate effective communication of technical ideas to management teams.
- Interpersonal skills to allow one to work with a wide range of individuals at all levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- English Advanced
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computer Aided Design, 3D Printing and/or Minitab preferred.
- Project Management skills, product commercialization
- Familiar with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes
- Familiar with PED/EN334/EN14382
- Experience with ANSYS FEA analysis tools.
- Experience with CFD/CFX software and analysis
- Experience with Amesim tool
- Skilled in the use of PLM software, specifically Team Center
