About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Underwriter / Financial Analyst to support our U.S.-based investment and acquisitions team from our Guadalajara office. This role plays a key part in evaluating new senior housing investment opportunities and supporting strategic decision-making through financial modeling, underwriting, and market research.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct financial underwriting for acquisitions, developments, refinancing, and repositioning of senior housing communities across the U.S.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess cash flows, IRR, NPV, and overall investment performance.
• Analyze property-level financials including income statements, rent rolls, expense reports, and capex plans.
• Perform market research and benchmarking to validate assumptions on occupancy rates, rent growth, and operating costs.
• Support the preparation of investment memoranda and presentations for internal review and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with acquisitions, asset management, and finance teams to ensure alignment with company goals and underwriting standards.
• Assist in tracking performance of existing assets and identifying areas for value enhancement or risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in real estate underwriting, investment analysis, or FP&A, ideally within the real estate or senior housing sector.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to create and audit complex financial models.
- Understanding of real estate investment metrics (IRR, cap rate, debt service coverage, etc.).
- Familiarity with U.S. real estate market dynamics, especially in multifamily, healthcare, or senior living segments.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and written communication.
- Experience with tools like Argus, Yardi, or similar is a plus.
- Advanced English proficiency is required, as the role involves daily interaction with U.S.-based stakeholders.
- Preferred Attributes:
- Experience supporting U.S.-based teams or working in cross-border environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Interest in the senior living industry and its long-term growth potential.
