ZF is looking for a Engineer III- Cost for our location in La Laguna, Durango.

Position Requirements:

• Consolidate input data from Various Functional groups and input this data into business case software to produce program financials
• Continuous development of group wide Cost Engineering Reference-processes
• Functional development of tools in Cost Estimating (e.g. technology-specific fast calculators)
• Generation of Best-Practice-Product Cost Calculations considering a Total Cost approach
• Utilize understanding of engineering/manufacturing processes to identify potentials for business improvement strategies. (Lean manufacturing Strategies)
• Interpret and challenge plant manufacturing solution for viability in Capital expenditure requests.
• Compute cost estimates of raw material, Factory costs, supplier tools.
• Identification of measures for optimization of Cost structures
• Quote and Deviation analysis (P&L, and cash flows) as well as the development of gap closure recommendations (commercial/technical)
• Calculation of the Cost impact associated with Engineering changes based on drawing modifications
• Maintain project files and program documentation. Manage program financials from award through full program life cycle.
• Compute and speak to financial ratios/profit metrics
• Support presentation to high level management technical detail in quotation including Commodity inflation, foreign exchange, capital expenditures, technology, and assembly details

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Degree in BS or BA, Engineering/Business/Finance preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Engineering/Manufacturing/Finance related field
• Specific knowledge about Cost and (Manufacturing-) Technologies in the Technology Functional Plastics (injection molding), Steel/Aluminum Stamping, Die Casting. Understanding of Tool capability and machine processes.
• Ability to read Engineering Drawings
• Experience with database programs (Excel,Pivot Tables, PoweBI) Ability to write macros to streamline processes (+)
• Willingness to continuously keep knowledge at a state of the art/best practice level
• Distinct analytical capabilities, solution oriented, and accuracy/detail orientation
• Supportive, ability to work in teams, strong communication skills in an international context and acceptance for travelling
