Role purpose
The Risk & Compliance function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Group's businesses (also referred to as "the First LOD") to ensure that they effectively manage as "Risk Owners" the Financial & Non-Financial Risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Second LOD consists of 'Risk Stewards' who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the First LOD. The Risk & Compliance function is a Risk Steward for a number of non-financial risks in accordance with HSBC Group's risk framework.
The role holder will manage the people strategy, training agenda and communication across Risk & Compliance LAM, in collaboration with key stakeholders from multiple areas outside Risk & Compliance (I.e HR, Learning, Internal comms, etc), the role holders is responsible for designing and implementing the annual training plan (Inc. Review of learning needs analysis and budget management), foster and promote a culture of professional development with tangible tools and actions to be designed and implemented; coordinate multiple engagement (Events, town halls,etc.) and other relevant strategies that contribute to retain and enhance snapshot results as required, design and implement well-being & culture strategies, manage R&C communication channels and design adh-hoc campaigns within the function to support and collaborate with the Global Risk & Compliance people strategy & culture objectives
Main Responsabilities:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
• Responsible of designing Risk & Compliance LAM People agenda.
• Identify & plan training activities, supporting the function capabilities needs on the basis of feedback, quality results, new trends, upcoming projects, etc.
• Coordinate function events as off-sites, town halls and relevant Senior Leadership events.
• Lead and guide career development strategies for our regional colleagues.
• Act as the link between HR and Internal Risk & Compliance team on training needs identification, and talent development strategies to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Operate the internal Risk & Compliance communication channels
Requirements
Experience
• Strong understanding of external banking environment - regulatory, political and competitive
• Understanding of HSBC Group and its strategy
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner
• Excellent Spanish & English written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent Senior Stakeholder Management skill
• Delivery-focused with attention to detail and ensure tasks are completed on time and to a level of quality.
• 'Can Do' attitude. Willing to turn a hand to whatever task is required.
• Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organisation
