What You Will Do:

• Lead the creation of scalable, efficient data pipelines leveraging GCP tools.
• Collaborate with senior data engineering leaders to shape system architecture.
• Implement best practices for transformation workflows, version control, and performance enhancement.
• Develop batch and streaming data pipelines tailored to diverse business requirements.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and validation procedures throughout the data pipeline lifecycle.
• Work closely with analysts to ensure data sets are accessible and optimized for use.
• Enhance code quality and promote reusability within data processes.
• Provide technical reviews and coaching to team members.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to streamline and modernize the platform.
• Maintain data reliability and consistency both daily and over the long term.

What We Are Looking For:

• Expertise with BigQuery, SQL, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
• Strong skills in coding, debugging, automation, and testing.
• Solid understanding of data design patterns and cloud-native architectures.
• Ability to build and troubleshoot robust and efficient data pipelines.
• Commitment to quality and performance.
• Ownership mindset with an organized approach to documentation and testing.
• Effective collaboration with technical and cross-functional teams.
• Proactive problem-solving and ownership of tasks.

Experience Required:

• 4 to 6 years in data engineering roles, including at least 2 years in team or technical leadership positions.

Tools & Technologies:

• Advanced use of BigQuery.
• SQL and Python programming.
• dbt and Dataform for data transformations.
• Airflow and Cloud Composer for workflow orchestration.
• CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git or GitLab.
• Google Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and experience with structured and semi-structured data formats like JSON and Parquet.

Technical Knowledge / Certifications:

• Strong skills in query optimization and storage design.
• Experience in implementing data validation and monitoring mechanisms.
• Mandatory familiarity with Google Cloud Platform; certifications are advantageous.
• Experience creating reusable transformation logic applicable across multiple domains.
