Automation and Controls Engineer—Saltillo

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Automation and Controls Engineer is responsible for all matters related to the machinery controls.

The automation and control engineer will be responsible for the current machinery, new machinery to be installed, machinery refurbishment, upgrades and new technologies implementations to increase the reliability of machinery.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Electronic, Electromechanic, Mecatronic or related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of related work experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Needs to be able to design, build, and maintain systems that combine mechanical and electrical parts.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Computer skills with a high comfortable level and utilization to accomplish tasks.
• English conversational level.
• Previous use of a Maintenance Management System (MMS) or similar program.
• Ability to work in an agile environment with shifting priorities.
• Communication skills.
• Hands-on, result-oriented and able to work with autonomy.
• Safety based work standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision of machinery installation with OEM supplier making sure the standards of safety and quality are met during installation.
• Maintain controls cabinets in basic and safe conditions.
• Participate in maintenance KPI's accomplishment.
• Troubleshooting of electrical and electronic failures and developing system to increase machinery reliability.
• Administrate electronic spare parts.
• Responsible for technician under his/her responsibility.
• Technical support in all production areas and to maintenance relatives.
• Participate in all projects related to new technologies for the company.
• Machinery automation integration by integrating mechanical components with electrical systems such as wiring, sensors and programming control systems.
• Machinery developments and processes develop being always updated in the new technologies and solutions available in the market.
• Create Request for Quote (RFQ) for new projects based on company's standard.
• Create controls laboratory to develop new technologies, device tests, experiments and simulations.
• Participate in new machinery projects and participate in machinery startup and release.
• Create a database of all machinery, such as manuals, design, tests and modifications and create a troubleshooting database for future references.
• Ensure the safety and compliance in all machinery making sure all systems and components meet government policies and standards.
