What will you do?
- Provide electronic/mechanical engineering support to manufacturing operation and design engineering to resolve quality, assembly, and BoMs issues
- Participate in design for manufacturability, tooling/fixture design, BoM structure, cost analysis, process and supplier development, documentation, and training
- Carry out cost reduction, process improvement, material and engineering evaluation project to achieve cost and operation efficiency
- Update electronic and mechanical parts/assemblies and modify drawings
- Develop and maintain work instructions and Device History Records
- Maintain and ensure systems and procedures are in compliance with ISO, regulatory, and housekeeping requirements
- Support NPI activities from early design to Mfg Pilot phase to production by collaborating with multi-functional teams to transition new products into production and to ensure smooth full production mode
- Continuously strive to improve output goals. Demonstrate good time management resulting in efficiency. Support cost improvement initiatives by reducing failures, improving capacity and using supplies wisely. Reduce work in process, queues and cycle times.
- Perform robust root cause analysis of production issues, implement appropriate containment, and drive corrective action
How will you get here?
- This position will be base in Chihuahua México
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent if you have experience in the Electronic Industry.
- Experience using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks/CREO)
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA). CREO Simulate is a plus.
- Knowledge of ANSI drafting standards and GD&T.
- 90% English; excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skill to manage projects and work with multi-functional teams
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge/experience in electronic, mechanical design with materials such as aluminum, steel, engineering plastics and related fabrication methods, and documentation knowledge of GD&T, using SolidWorks.
- Experience in working prototype testing (electro-mechanical hardware parts & assemblies), Product structuring, documentation, critical assemblies/test metrics
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Experience with fluidic devices (e.g., pumps, transducers, tubing, fittings) in the medical device or scientific instrument industry.
- Ability to plan, track and manage project plans and build schedules, risk assessment and mitigation for NPIs
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize projects and process multiple tasks
- Experience interacting with suppliers to ensure product conformance, cost effectiveness and outsourcing initiatives
- Able to communicate clearly both in oral and presentation
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Document design changes by writing and reviewing Engineering Change Order
- Knowledge of GD&T and common machining techniques. Ability to review and interpret drawings
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with DFx - Design for Assembly, Manufacturability, Service, and Cost
