The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for operations. This role ensures timely procurement of high-quality goods at the best possible price while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting inventory control efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
Request and review quotes, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery conditions.
Issue purchase orders and ensure order accuracy and timely delivery.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and update procurement databases.
Collaborate with internal departments (production, engineering, accounting, etc.) to understand procurement needs.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate reorders to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Track and resolve issues related to supplier performance, delivery, or quality.
Stay up to date with market trends, pricing, and new product developments.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles (manufacturing industry preferred).
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of international purchasing and logistics (for global procurement roles).
Experience with ISO standards and quality management systems.
