What do you get to do in this position?

• Evaluate and validate product design alternatives to create optimum process designs by applying knowledge of product design, assembly, fixturing and materials.

• Work hands on during prototype builds to assess the validity of the design concept

• Create detailed capacity analysis studie

• Comparison of manual, semi-auto and fully automated solution

• Assist in definition of the material flow and handling used to supply the proce

• Plan and establish the sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization of resources (machine and human). Experience with line balancing techniques.

• Generate quote comparisons based on cost, lead time and technical feasibility

• Participate in PFMEA, process control plans, and Poka-yoke and Jidoka solution

• Develop standardized work instruction

• Identify and implement digital tool solutions that align with our Smart Factory initiative

This job might be for you if:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Student pursuing a degree in the following:

o Industrial Engineering

o Mechanical Engineering

o Or related engineering

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• AutoCAD

• Microsoft Office

• Creo (ProE) or Solidworks (preferred)

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME

• Experience with SE product

• Cedar Rapids Industrialization Innovation lab

• Access to senior level engineers for coaching/mentoring

• Working on $600B business critical to SE

• Visibility to other cross-functions such as product design, marketing, quality, manufacturing
