We seek a Software Design Quality Engineer who will be responsible for performing embedded software testing and automation. This position will be based in Southeast Michigan.

Requirements

• BS/MS in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or similar with a software focus
• 4+ years of relevant experience in embedded software automation and testing
• Proficient in developing automation test scripts using Python
• Experience in automotive communication protocols, automotive communications networks (i.e., CAN, MOST, RS485, Ethernet AVB, LIN, A2B) and tools (CANoe/CANalyzer)
• Experience using C/C++ for embedded software development
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Strong debugging skills using tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, hardware-based debuggers
• Familiarity with software development tools version control (SVN), software editors, requirements management tools (JAMA, DOOR, or similar), defect tracking tools (JIRA or similar), and peer review (Crucible)
• A strong desire for quality with a "test-to-break" attitude
• Self-motivated and able to work with on a team or independently

Preferred skills

• Working knowledge of audio domain and digital signal processing
• Experience/understanding of MATLAB
• Experience on National Instruments hardware and test environment
• Project management skills
• Familiar with models such as CMMI, SPICE, V-Model, or Scrum methodology
• Familiar with lean processes
