SQA/SDE Engineer

Responsible to assist in selection of new suppliers considering Production and Quality capabilities and controls. Monitor the current suppliers providing response to production lines or customers for complaints related to purchased components. Evaluate 8D's reports and corrective actions related to suppliers. Acquire and provide suppliers with technical support and training when required.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 year of prior experience in Supplier Quality is desired.
• Bachelor of Science/ Engineering, or academic equivalent
• Be proficient in English when working with teams.
• Experience with Bronze and Aluminum Sand Casting and Machining is a plus.
• Experience in auditing supplier's quality systems onsite.
• Knowledge of VDA 6.3, ISO TS16949, ISO 9001 is a plus.
• Problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa analysis) are required.
• Core quality tools including control plans, process flow diagrams, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
• Knowledge of statistical tools including DOE, and frequency distribution analysis.
• Computer skills including Minitab and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides direct support to supplier build issues or launch issues.
• Interfaces with Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality departments.
• Drive supplier improvements in quality performance through the utilization of data-driven measurements and statistical methods.
• Perform supplier site visits/audits to assess quality performance, and technical capabilities.
• Review PPAP submissions for compliance with technical and quality requirements.
• Travel 30% of time (visiting suppliers)
• Work with production, engineering, quality and purchasing to resolve supplier problems.
• Training suppliers on Hubbell quality requirements and procedures.
