Process Engineer - Assy/Test

Responsibilities

Position Duties:

1. Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity.
2. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity.
3. Support FPS principles and Follow KUP and Operating Processs while Engineering launch solutions.
4. Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
5. Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes.
6. Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with guidelines.
7. Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes.
8. Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices.
9. Control the critical inputs to launch production process.
10. Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards.
11. Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements.
12. Provide a robust response to production requirements and issues.
13. Work closely with production team to drive all engineering actions across the machining/assembly line changes.
14. Ensure process or product changes are captured using Manage The Change and APQP processes as appropriate. Conduct functional Trials.
15. Establish and maintain process to meet required quality and productivity targets and keep documentation using 6-Sigma tools.
16. Plan and prepare engineering projects.
17. Prepare specifications and request of quotations.
18. Participate in tooling improvements, layouts, with launch tooling engineer.
19. Supports Maintenance Operating System (MOS) actions.
20. Use and support the implementation of the FPS tools, Key Unifying Processes and Operating System.
21. Provide process-related training to production team.
22. Work with WERS, CORA, CAD and other required systems.
23. Drive DCP and capability studies/Control Plans related to project.
24. Liaise with Forward Planning and Manufacturing Engineering to co-ordinate changes.
25. Purchase, commissioning, capability and debugging of new equipment. Participate in Machine Witness at vendor.
26. Lead the machining of prototype parts.
27. Liaise with Product Team, MEO, Production Team and suppliers to develop optimum processes, such as gauging, torque strategies, in process testing and hot/cold engine testing.
28. Manage the development of processes through engineering and build to support Prototype program delivery schedules.
29. Respond to Product Design running and Plant based Program Changes with feasibility, cost and timing, within a Managed Change discipline.
30. Provide requirements for new model launch timing and metrics, such as PTR runs.
31. Liaise with external suppliers in support of project work.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience: 5+ yrs of related experience

Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in ONE FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Experience:

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
• 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skills
• Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
• DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience
• TQM and Kaizen Methods
• FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
• Visual Factory Management
• Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience
