REGIONAL COMMMODITY BUYER
As a Regional Commodity Manager, your role is pivotal in overseeing the procurement and management of specific commodities within the designated region. You will be responsible for developing commodity strategies, ensuring compliance with quotation timelines, generating reports, and proficiently utilizing SAP Ariba for procurement activities.
Commodity Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies aligned with organizational goals and regional requirements.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and assess supplier capabilities to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate commodity strategies into overall business plans.
Quotation Compliance and Management:
- Ensure timely issuance and management of quotations in accordance with procurement timelines and compliance standards.
- Monitor quotation processes to facilitate efficient supplier engagement and negotiation.
- Implement best practices for cost-saving initiatives and supplier relationship management.
- Identify the most sustainable source in agreement with Carbon net zero 2040 commitment, as well as to understand and respect the customers supply chain requirements such as Conflict mineral reporting (CMR), Modern Slavery, and Social Responsibility requirements
Reports and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on commodity performance, procurement metrics, and cost savings.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Present findings to senior management and stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
- Provide input, with justification, with regard to forecast spend and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) data for the commodity under management.
Ariba Usage and Procurement Execution:
- Utilize Ariba platform extensively for procurement activities including sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.
- Implement Ariba enhancements and updates to streamline procurement processes.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to optimize quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts and terms that align with business objectives and mitigate risks.
- Resolve supplier issues promptly to uphold operational continuity and customer satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across functions such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment in procurement strategies.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Proven experience in commodity management, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in Automotive field.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management principles.
- Proficiency in SAP and SAP Ariba or similar ERP and procurement software (preferred).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Effective verbal and written English, interpersonal skills for building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
