BASIC FUNCTION Responsibilityfor directing the plant's operation in accordance with established policies,procedures and objectives; for planning, organizing, directing and controllingperformance of ceramic sanitary ware, production, plant maintenance, serviceand administrative groups; for achieving effective and efficient utilization ofall the plant personnel and physical facilities; for coordinating andefficiently utilizing Group and Corporate staff services; for staffing theplant with qualified personnel; for effectively communicating established objectives,policies and procedures; for initiating, as needed, recommendations formodifying established policies, procedures and objectives; and for keepingsuperiors informed of regular reports reflecting such things as productionresults, availability of labor, changes in operating requirements, changes inlocal legislation or other community activity. Responsiblealso for capital investments in the plant, coordinate activities forexpansions, and act as a Legal representative of the Company.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and recommend short- and long-range plant goals in support of Division, Group and corporate objectives and policies, for the approval of the Director - DIR OPER-CI & SS.
Direct and approve the establishment of manufacturing methods, standards, techniques, and plans so as to assure the production is consistent with established specifications for cost, quality, safety, delivery, and sustainability metrics.
Direct and coordinate with the needed Corporate resources, the development of production schedules, economic inventory levels and control procedures to meet sales forecasts.
Direct and coordinate the development of improved processes, materials and design to provide for new and/or improved products.
In coordinating with the Director - Human Resources, develop and administer approved labor relations policies, personnel practices and procedures; salary and wage practices and procedures; health, safety and employee recreational programs; and supervise, direct and control the hiring, training, promotion or separation of all personnel acquired for assigned, including all aspects of fair employment practices, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.
Develop and administer effective maintenance and service organizations that will result in maintaining all facilities in such a condition as to provide production and service groups with dependable low-cost engineering, maintenance and sanitation services.
Direct and coordinate with the Corporate Information Systems group, Materials and Control, PA, in the development and establishment of local purchasing policies and procedures that are consistent with approved company policies.The preparation of annual budget recommendations - administrative, capital and production expense - for submission to the DIR OPER-CI & SS.
Approval of all expense accounts and purchase requisitions in accordance with approved budgets and expenditure limitations and recommend amounts in excess of authorized limits.
Represent the company in the community through active membership in community organizations, striving to represent the company and its employees as an outstanding member of the community.
Direct and coordinate plant sustainability projects that result in year over year improvements in our four-key metrics (water reduction, energy reduction, CO2 reduction, and solid waste reduction).
Administer, in cooperation with other Group and Corporate Management, the coordination of approved plans for division growth and development, informing the Director - DIR OPER-CI & SS. and others concerned, on process being made in comparison with established objectives, budgets, and schedules for various programs and projects.

Has frequent contact with the Director - DIR OPER-CI & SS. subordinate staff to obtain or furnish information relative to coordinating the uniform interpretation of quality control specifications and standards.
Has contact as required with the Director - HR and his/her subordinate staff, on legal questions, personnel administration, salary and wage administration, safety programs, training, recreation, fringe benefits and medical services, and all aspects of fair employment practices, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.
Has contact as required with the Vice President - Marketing, and his/her subordinate staff, to obtain or furnish information on backlog trends and status of incoming orders, status of special or key orders, interplant communication problems relative to shipping schedules and stock information.
Has contact as required with Director Engineering, and his/her subordinate staff, on new product or design change specifications.
Has contact as required with the Senior Vice President - Finance and his/her subordinate staff on matters relating to local banking arrangements and corporate insurance.
Has contact as required with the Vice President - Technical Services and his/her subordinate staff on matters pertaining to maintenance of facilities, pollution control, plant security and Industrial Engineering.
Have regular and special meetings as required with the Director - DIR OPER-CI & SS., for consultation and review of manufacturing and production.
Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investment in technology, equipment, systems or other assets and resources.
Coordinate all the activities related to the expansion of the plant, considering all operation aspects to comply with everything on time and within budget.
Act as a legal representative for the local Company, attending any process or legal act of the Company.
ExternalBusiness Relationships: Attends trade shows and seminars.
Has frequent contact with area industrial and civic personnel.
Frequent contact with suppliers and vendors.
Act as a legal representative with different external authorities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Collegeeducation with emphasis in industrial plant management. Ten years manufacturingor related experience desired and three to seven years Kohler Co. manufacturingor related experience preferred.
