About the position:

The Linux System Engineer I hired for this role will be part of the Server Ops Linux team and will be supporting the production support activities from the MX / US time zone. He / she is required to work on the operational activities, PCI Audit, taking care of OS patching activities, fixing open vulnerabilities, providing support to the projects on need basis.

Responsibilities:

• Linux System Engineer I position will be closely working with other senior engineers in the team and supporting all L1 activities in the team. Additionally, the engineer will be supporting the patching activities, fixing the open vulnerabilities reported by Cyber Security team.
• 90% heads down production support activities including Service now requests, change and incident response, patching & vulnerability remediations, on call coverage during holidays & weekends (on a rotational basis).
• 10% Project support, cross functional coordination and self-development.

Skill Required:

• Strong problem solving, analysis skills.
• Experience with monitoring, reporting, management, and optimization tools regarding systems.
• Strong passion for technology and ability to stay current.
• Expertise in ITIL and Services Management Principles.

Certificates / Training:

•  Preferred: ITIL v3 Foundational+ certification, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)

Experience:

•  2+ years systems engineering

Essential Soft Skills: 

• Good communication.
• Teamwork skills. 

Education:

• Bachelor's in Information Technology or equivalent
