As an SMB Sales Manager at Nextiva, you will be leading a high-performance team of Account Executives focused on driving revenue growth and expanding Nextiva's market share in the commercial sector. You will oversee all aspects of the sales process, from developing strategies to coaching and mentoring your team, ensuring that targets are met, and that the company's vision and goals are being achieved. This position is critical to fostering relationships with clients and ensuring the team is aligned with Nextiva's overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop, implement, and manage sales strategies designed to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
- Align sales strategies with Nextiva's corporate vision and market trends to drive growth within the commercial sector
- Develop action plans for new client acquisition, focusing on both inbound and outbound sales efforts
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage a team , guiding them to exceed sales targets and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and high performance
- Coach and mentor the sales team to improve their skills, close rates, and sales processes
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, team meetings, and performance reviews to monitor progress and provide ongoing support
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and training of new sales staff to ensure a high-performing team
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Set clear, measurable goals for the team and track progress towards meeting these goals
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts, identifying key trends and potential roadblocks
- Analyze team performance data, utilizing KPIs such as revenue growth, sales cycle time, win rate, and average deal size to improve individual and team results
- Generate detailed performance reports for senior management to assist with decision-making and long-term planning
Sales Operations & Process Optimization:
- Work closely with the sales operations team to streamline sales processes and ensure efficiency in all stages of the sales cycle
- Ensure the team follows Nextiva's sales methodology, ensuring consistency and best practices in lead qualification, sales calls, and closing
- Optimize sales tools and technology to improve team performance and sales processes, such as CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
Client Relationship & Retention:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and partners in the commercial sector
- Provide oversight on high-value and complex accounts, stepping in when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
- Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure a smooth transition of accounts post-sale and maintain strong ongoing customer relationships
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment between sales and marketing strategies, focusing on lead generation and campaign execution
- Coordinate with product development and customer success teams to relay customer feedback and identify opportunities for product improvement or new offerings
- Assist in defining product pricing strategies and packages to maximize revenue potential
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, with a minimum of 2 years in a sales leadership or management role
- Proven track record of success in exceeding sales targets, particularly in the SaaS or telecommunications industry
- Strong experience managing and coaching a team of sales professionals
Skills:
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
- Sales Process Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, and experience with CRM tools like Salesforce
- Relationship Building: Skilled at developing long-lasting relationships with clients and partners
- Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills to close complex sales and contracts
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field
- Certifications in Sales Management, such as Certified Sales Leader (CSL)
- Previous experience in the commercial telecommunications or SaaS industry is a plus
Work Environment:
- Full-time, based in Guadalajara, Mexico
