Summary: VES is looking for a Engineer, CNC Programmer to join our team in our Matamoros location. This person will work to design and direct engineering projects through the respective design team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Read and interpret the drawing, determining the machining strategies.
• Elaborate in paper or digital format the machining program, using different programming modes.
• To determine, according to the technical specifications of a material, the cutting speeds, feed rates and depth of pass to be applied in the work of the different tools involved in the process.
• Enter the data of the tool offsets.
• Load the program in the control panel at the machine or with interface from a PC.
• Determine and indicate the cutting edges, positions and inserts of the tools to be used for machining.
• Knowledge in Gibbs and CREO, knowledge in machine programming.
• Programming of CNC machinery, computer controlled or robots to perform machine functions on metal or plastic workpieces.
• Select tools and materials needed for the job.
• Set up machine controls by grouping planned machine operations into a set of instructions.
• - Test machine operations by running a test run or using computer simulations.
• Assist in adjusting machines in case of malfunctions, problems or irregularities.
• Knowledge in CNC machinery; lathe, 5 axis or 4 axis +1 horizontal or vertical machining centers and multitasking milling lathes.
• Assist in the implementation and start-up of new CNC equipment for production area.
• Analyze and improve productivity by improving cycle times on critical "constraint" operations in the manufacturing process.
• Ensure quality in machined product, according to specifications.
• Analysis, implementation of new products that are introduced to the production areas.

Education and/or Experience:

• Mechanical Industrial Engineering or similar
• 3 years of experience as CNC programmer.
• Bilingual (desirable)
