This position is responsible for supervising and leading the entire team of tool maintenance technicians.
Ensure that production meets quality, cost and efficiency objectives within the company's standards, while adhering to safety regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, problem solving, and implement best practices in the area.
Coordinate with HR that appropriate training and skills development is provided for optimal departmental performance.
Liaison with the client for technical issues and mentoring of the company's engineering team.
DAILY ACTIVITIES:
Develops and optimizes a maintenance management system that includes preventive and predictive tool maintenance, parts. inventory control, maintenance cost control, Manpower control, etc.
Develop and validate stamping dies, tooling and accessories.
Optimize press operations both mechanically and hydraulically.
Implement best practices in the progressive presses to the processes of crimping, punching and bending the material.
Ensure that processes comply with dimensional accuracy, material utilization and established cycle times.
Ensure that the entire stamping operation complies with safety policies and promote zero (0) accidents as a culture.
PERIODICAL ACTIVITIES:
To ensure that all expenses are within budget and to ensure downtime is minimal and the team performs work efficiently as per KPI directions.
Develop a plan to achieve overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
Rectify complaints from internal and external customers.
The main company's APQP team and PFMEA participation.
Promote the analysis of corrective actions for defects (cracks, wrinkles and setbacks).
Implement lean manufacturing, six sigma and kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 for the specifications and standards requested by the customer.
Collaborate in the development of new projects and support new product launches.
Conduct feasibility studies (Design by Manufacturing), review process simulations.
Manage prototype development, testing and mass production run.
TECHNICAL SKILL:
Expert in progressive and transfer presses.
Knowledge of PLC, robotics and automation in industry.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred).
Modal analysis of failures.
Tool design.
IATF 16969, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 e ISO 14001.
Overall evaluation of the efficacy.
Maintenance management.
Experience working in the manufacturing industry.
